The roots of Fiat are much deeper than the FIAL formation. In the year 1951, Premier Automobiles Limited produced Fiat 500 for the Indian market. Three years later, the 500 was replaced by 1100. In 1973, Fiat 1100 was renamed as the Premier Padmini, and the later models soon followed. Uno and Siena models were launched under the Fiat name a few decades later.
